Sanasie,46, of ‘G’ Patentia, West Coast Demerara is accused of committing the offence on January 30. Court documents say that he, being the deponent in an affidavit for an interim and mandatory injunction for damages and a High Court order knowingly falsely sworn that the assets of the Guyana Cricket Board were in his trust. He allegedly committed the offence knowing that the said transfer to DEB Essential Organisation Inc. Sanasie is the petitioner and the defendants are the Attorney General, Clive Lloyd and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport are the defendants. The GCB Secretary’s lawyer, Sanjeev Datadin noted that police are alleging that the accused swore to certain things on an affidavit and the accused at no time would make any statement without legal consultation. Datadin successfully secured bail for Sanasie in the sum of GUY$150,000. The matter would be called again on July 26. Prior to his court appearance Tuesday morning, he was arrested Monday morning charged and granted GUY$100,000. |
