An East Coast Demerara man was Friday morning stabbed to death allegedly by his stepfather during an argument.

The dead man is Lakeram Persaud, 34, of Lincoln Street, Enterprise. The incident reportedly happened around 5.45 AM at the men’s home.

“Initial investigations have revealed that Lakeram Persaud was involved in an argument with his stepfather during which it is alleged that he was fatally stabbed to his chest with a knife,” a police statement read.

The suspect has been arrested.

Meanwhile, the police say a Venezuelan national was arrested Thursday night at Eteringbang Landing after a search of his person revealed an unlicensed .45 Colt pistol with six rounds.
