Police Chief of Criminal Investigations, Deputy Commissioner Seelall Persaud said investigators have learnt that about one month ago a man had called the dead man's wife, demanding a vehicle or money and made threatening remarks. Persaud was not in a position to say what was the nature of the threat. The body of 25-year old Shawn De Freitas Sukhdeo of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara was discovered shortly after 6 O’clock Tuesday morning. It bore several gunshot wounds and burnt marks. So far investigators have learnt that the man had owed amounts of GUY$500,000 and G UY$300,000. It is unclear how many more persons he had owed.
