gralogoThe Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) commenced the sale of Liquor, Trade and Miscellaneous licences at its Regional Integrated Tax Offices on Monday September 3, 2012. As a result persons wishing to apply for or to renew same can do so at GRA’s Regional Integrated Tax offices in Corriverton, New Amsterdam, Anna Regina, Bartica and Parika.

"This is to make it more conceninent to the taxpapers rather than they going to the RDC (Regional Democratic Council) offices," an official told Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com).

Previously, the sale of Trade and Miscellaneous licences was carried out by the Regional Democratic Councils (RDCs) of Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, on behalf of the GRA.

However, effective September 3, 2012 all Trade and Miscellaneous licence holders throughout the country, with the exception of those in Regions 1, 8, and 9, can visit their nearest GRA office in order apply for or renew their Trade and Miscellaneous Licences.

Nevertheless, the Regional Democratic Councils (RDCs) in Regions 1, 8, and 9, will continue to process the Trade and Miscellaneous licences manually.

Persons residing in Region 4 will continue to process their applications for new and the renewal of Trade and Miscellaneous Licences at the Licence Revenue Office located at Smyth and Princess Streets, Georgetown. In addition, persons residing in Regions three (3) and five (5) may also utilize the GRA at Smyth and Princess Street or any other GRA location at their convenience.

The GRA has been working with the Ministry of Local Government to ensure a smooth transition of the service which previously offered by several Regional Democratic Councils. For further information persons can call the agency’s hotline on 227-6060.

HI Stupid GRA Boss. Two months before the existing licences expires, you should notify the business owners by mail for renewal. If the renewal deat expires, then charge late fees. You will Gain more revinue and easy the congestion at offices. This will eliminate the business owners from giving bribes. Get a division to handle Nwe applicants. USE the mail as much as possible.
