rawgoldPolice were Sunday probing the killing of a miner and injury to another in Mahdia during an argument about the stealing of a large quantity of raw gold.

Dead is 22-year old David John of Port Kaituma, North West District. The injured man, 32-year old Andre Wallace of Timehri Squatting Area, has been admitted to the Mahdia Hospital. 

Investigators said the incident occurred around 6:30 PM, Saturday. 

Guyana Police Force spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker said John and Wallace were involved in an argument with a group of men over the alleged larceny of a quantity of raw gold. 

They were allegedly beaten by the men resulting in the death of John and injuries to Wallace. 

No one has been arrested.

Incidents like these will continue to occur because the GPF is has no capasity to handle law and order outside of Georgetown. All thIS government wants is to collect fees from gold miners . And all the police do is investigate and retrive dead bodies from the WILD WEST gold mining districts.

It aches when you have hard working people trying to make an honest living and others don't want to work but want to live out the lives of others.

Stop robbing and killing people and work hard to achieve your own. Just as how they can work hard to get what they want, you too (criminals) can do the same.
