Two persons were Sunday night killed in a car accident on the Linden Soesdyke Highway.

The police on Monday identified the deceased as driver Saphraz Ali, 33, of Sarah Johanna, EBD, and passenger Joel Mohamed, 50, of Dora, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

"Investigations have revealed that Saphraz Ali was driving motor car HB 6611 along the roadway allegedly at a fast rate, when he lost control of the vehicle which turned turtle several times," the police said.

The men were taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

Never saw a Motor Vehicle in a coffin or Funeral Parlour, vehicles and guns don't kill. People use these instruments to kill themselves and others. The Mounted Traffic police should be patrolling the Country Highways day and night to prevent these tragedies, instead they chase down law abiding citizens with frivilous charges to get a bribe.

What ever happen to the Motor vehicle police?

This is the new name for traffic cops because they only concentrate on Motor Vehicles and no other group of road user.

Dear God grant travelling mercies to the people who ply the streets of Guyana. Drivers remember your family need you at home because you are the sole bread winner.
