ezjet_flightThe Ministry of Public Works on Tuesday announced that fund claims of affected EZjet passengers are currently being processed and that it will notify the public through the media when payments are ready.

The Government Information said the Guyana government would be only refunding passengers who purchased their tickets in Guyana. The US $200,000 bond deposit which was lodged by the airline to enter the Guyana market will be used for the refunds.

Guyanese authorities had set a January 14th deadline for passengers, who had purchased EzJet tickets locally, to apply for refunds now that the airline has been declared dead.

EZjet Airline’s licences have been suspended in the US and Guyana following financial difficulties encountered with its founder and CEO Sonny Ramdeo who is now in custody in the United States.

He has been accused of embezzling as much as US$20 million from as early as 2005 from Promise Healthcare Inc. and Success Healthcare Group, where he worked as the payroll supervisor.

As the payroll supervisor for both companies, Ramdeo managed the payroll for more than 3,500 employees in hospitals nationwide.

If you booked directly with Toronto, all passengers were refunded. However there are a few passengers that we were not able to contact. Those passengers can call 416-633-1538 or email for their refund.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR GUYANESE PEOPLE TO REALIZE THAT ANY BUSINESS RUN BY A CERTAIN ETHNIC GROUP WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL BECAUSE IT IS SHADY AT BEST OR ILLEGAL AT WORST ... THEIR SORRY RECORD OF MISMANAGED AND ILLEGALLY RUN BUSINESSES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES ... THEY JUST CANNOT HELP THEMSELVES AND THEIR PPP FRIENDS ARE JUST AS COMPLICIT IN THE MISADVENTURES .... WHEN THESE BUSINEESES FAIL AND THEY ARE ARRESTED NOT ONE PEEP IS HEARD FROM THEM e.g. JAGDEO
