The United States and the Caribbean are establishing a polygraph centre in Jamaica through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI), American Ambassador to Guyana Brent Hardt announced on Friday.

Low and middle income owners of house lots are now eligible for a seven percent reduction in paints sold by Harris Paints- a deal that was sealed with between the company and the Ministry of Housing.

Transport Minister Robeson Benn

The Maritime Administration (MARAD) has given a report to the police recommending that criminal charges be laid in connection with the December 18 fatal boat accident on the Pomeroon River in which six persons died.

This was revealed by Transport Minister Robeson Benn under questioning in the National Assembly on Thursday. A boat assigned to the Region Two administration collided with a smaller vessel in the vicinity of Siriki/Adam's Creek around 5:30 PM. There was very heavy rainfall at the time of the mishap.
